WINDOWS AND WAVES

It will be such a blessing for me and many others to have an opportunity to share with you my concern over childhood sexual trauma.

Correspondence with MD K E JUNG

WINDOWS AND WAVES  describes the tendency of symptoms to come and go increasing and decreasing in the severity related to withdrawal and ptsd.

Where did she find the strength when so much was against her?

We will never know the details of what happened when the boarder crept into eight year old Norma Jean’s room and raped her, there is no public record of the incident in detail

But in that instant Marilyn was transformed

The internal boundaries which those of us who have not been abused take for granted boundaries of identity for instance were dramatically and violently erased. It is the universal experience of destruction of their internal boundaries that lies at the heart of children’s experience of sexual trauma and it happens the moment they are touched. It is the first step into a dark maze which may take a lifetime to escape.

From the moment her boundaries were shattered a vital power was unlocked and that power became the driving force of her life.

It was a driving force that was often unharnessed and out of control to be sure but it was the thing that made her who she was

A projection of sexual power by a sexual victim

The transformation led to her becoming a. star

In the goddess the construction blinds the reality beneath and a permission to desire is perceived because they are designated to be wanted: they offer themselves at a safe distance whilst the hideous mask remains buried somewhere in the psychological background.

CHILDHOOD SEXUAL ABUSE A CHALLENGE NOT INSANITY

ARMOND WHITE ON BLONDE
Netflix-style political porn disrespects Monroe and distorts pop history.

Turning Monroe into everybody’s victim exemplifies feminist victimhood gone awry. She has no “agency,” just a “secret self” Deconstructing Monroe’s legend has turned into degradation.

I always had to fight to take part the truth can be hard to find the fine line between pleasure and destruction …will love and sex ever go hand in hand in my life there is a big black abyss between desire and my true self Marilyn Monroe

She’d studied herself from early childhood, when her foster parents would drop her off at the movies to get her out of the way. She would then come back and look in the mirror and dream that she was a great star.

One could not do anything except admire that kind of straight head on bullseye that’s the target out there and I’m going to hit it and I’m going to be a great movie star.

DISMEMBERMENT
Images of physical dismemberment are often used in fairytales (the one handed maiden) dreams and art to depict psychological fragmentation and disconnection.

Such cut off splits maybe related to earlier relational trauma to understand and to heal is to re member those parts giving disavowed experience a felt place in consciousness.

A slow zoom into an apartment ending on a photograph of the sea

The zoom is broken up with various structural interventions: filmic interstices

a man staggers in and collapses briefly passing through the picture

even later a woman comes in discovers the body and makes a phone call

No drama the man is played by Hollis Frampton the avante garde death is no big deal

it happens and the zoom goes on.

The most infamous avant garde film is saying something about film and murder, the recording of an event is just that it is then screened..all mystery is in the image, the submerged narrative the offscreen drama of all cinema is murder and film is it’s aftermath,

There will be time, there will be time,

    To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet;

There will be time to murder and create
